Who we are
This website is operated by MM SEO, a freelance SEO consultancy based in Stockport, UK. References to "we", "us" or "our" throughout this policy refer to MM SEO.

What data we collect and why
Contact form
When you submit the enquiry form on this site we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), website URL and any message you provide. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. Data submitted via the form is processed by Web3Forms and forwarded to our email inbox. We do not store form submissions on our own servers.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests (responding to a business enquiry you initiated).
Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site (pages visited, time on site, traffic source). GA4 sets cookies and sends anonymised data to Google servers in the US. We have enabled IP anonymisation.
Legal basis: Consent (you can withdraw at any time via the cookie banner).
Advertising — Google Ads
With your consent we use the Google Ads tag (AW-798334161) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and track conversions (e.g. form submissions). Google may use this data to show you relevant ads across the Google network.

Behaviour analytics — Microsoft Clarity
With your consent we use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymised session replays and heatmaps to improve site usability. Clarity may collect mouse movements, clicks and scroll depth. No personally identifiable information is captured.

Cookies and consent
On your first visit a cookie banner asks for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set. We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which means Google's tags operate in a cookieless, privacy-safe mode until you grant consent. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage and you can change it at any time by clearing your browser data or contacting us.
The site does not set any cookies that require consent before you interact with the banner.

Data retention
Enquiry emails are retained in our inbox for as long as needed to manage the client relationship, and deleted when no longer necessary. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (the minimum GA4 setting). We do not retain any other personal data on our own systems.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal)
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

Data transfers outside the UK
Some third-party services listed above (Google, Microsoft) transfer data to the United States. These transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions recognised under UK GDPR.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
